Located in Victoria, BC, Discovery Coffee hand select their green beans from farmers all over the world and then roast them in-house, at their freshest. By roasting in small batches and pairing beans to specific brew methods, they introduce our customers to new coffees and unique brews every day.
This month you'll be trying their Costa Rica Aquiares Entre Rios roast from the Aquiares Estate farm in the Turrialba region.
The Entre Ríos - “between rivers” - is made up of two varietals developed specially to be leaf rust resistant. The environment and climate at the Aquiares Estate is well-suited for these leaf rust resistant varietals, however the challenges of climate change and pests require constant management and experimentation. The team at Aquiares Estate has a specially designed plot called the Varietal Garden where over 30 different varieties are being tested for cup quality, pest resistance and productivity.
